Reading Seed Children’s Literacy ProgramReading Seed’s mission is to help children learn to read so they can read to learn. Reading Seed recruits and trains volunteer reading coaches from the community to assist children reading below grade level in grades one through three, offers a lending library of books that match students’ interests with their reading abilities, and distributes free books to children to encourage independent reading. The vision of the organization is that every child in Pima County reads at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Since 2004, the Rotary Club of Tucson has supported this program that is making a major difference in our community. |
